we have all strayed so far from ourselves,
that its really becoming hard to tell who's genuine, and who's faulty.
in a society that demands we act a certain way,
we swallow our pride,
we hide our emotions,
we shy away from the slightest glimpse of love,
and we fear every chance at greatness...
how do we know what is real?
when girls force themselves to become bitter,
cynical, and scheming at most,
where every word a boy says must be interpreted,
analyzed, cryptically criticized,
until we come up with a response that shies so far away
from what we wanted to say,
it ends up a simply game;
we mean one thing, but say another,
because how dare we speak honestly...
when boys may love, may feel, may experience emotion;
but they go with the mainstream,
become heart breakers, cheats, liars,
and individuals who simply cannot express themselves;
so much so, that even they cannot look themselves in the mirror
without seeing the same person that every male now sees.
its hard to live in a place,
where every step you make,
and every word you say;
you lose a little bit of yourself,
and become a little bit more icy.

step aside from ignorance.
step aside from conformity.
step aside from this "wheeling" mentality.
step aside from bitterness, reprehension, cynicism.
step aside from games.
step aside from uniform opinions.
enter the real world: a place for real thoughts, real feelings, and real people.
